Hi, I came back.

The begin of Fukushima province, the earthquake happened in Japan last Saturday and it was so terrible.

-------------------------

Today let's learn how to pronounce V+ed at the end of a verb

it is so difficult to know how to pronounce "ed" in English. It depends on the letter before.

The three ways are:

1. "id"

If the verb has a "d" or  a "t" sound before "ed" , you need to pronounce "id"

"t" or "d" + ed  = "id"

Examples:

start -> started

visit -> visited

vote -> voted

blend -> blended

want -> wanted

2. "t"

If the word before "ed" ends in the sounds: p,k,f,s,sh,ch then "ed" is pronounced "t"

p,k,f,s,sh,ch + ed = "t"

Examples:

finish -> finished

look -> looked

punch -> punched

3. "d"

For all other words , "ed" is pronounced "d"

Examples:

play -> played

scream -> screamed

save -> saved
